- Make sure to check your windows for drafts that may be coming in through the sides or the bottom of the window. This is another sign that your windows have gone bad and need to be replaced. The wind that may be entering your home from the outside can affect the temperature inside your home greatly and needs to be addressed immediately.
- Condensation
Doors
- Make sure to check your doors by opening and closing them fully. If your door does not open or close smoothly or lock smoothly, then the chances are that you may need to have your door replaced. Also, make sure to check for drafts similar to your windows as this wind entering your home can affect your heating and cooling costs drastically.
Garage Door
- Some of us may not think that the garage door is necessary to check; however, it most definitely is, especially if the garage wall shares a wall with the rest of your home. Also, garage doors have come along way since when you were a kid growing up, so your first step would be to go outside into your garage and check to see if your garage door is insulated. You want to check and see if there is a single panel garage door or if you have a double panel garage door. If you have a single panel garage door, then it is not insulated, and if you have a double panel garage door, then chances are, your garage door is insulated, and you are all good to go. If you have a non-insulated garage door, then you may want to give us a call and get some pricey for an insulated garage door.
